Will Internet Invoice Pricing Replace Car Salesmen?

This is a Great question, Will the current trend of Internet Invoice Pricing replace the Car Salesman?  Car Buying has become an easy process online with invoice pricing everywhere and dealers fighting for your business, right?

Car Buying in reality is a complex Process and even the Internet Age we are in will have difficulty in replacing the car salesman. Can you get Car Buying Advice Online?  Most definitely you can get car buying advice, but there are many variables to Buying Cars; trade In, test drives, financing, and most important of all is, Most customers enjoy the interaction with the Salesman when buying a car. Who wants to here, "press star 2" for trade information, "pound 3" for leasing, etc.  We have been engulfed in technology to make our lives easier, but there is a point where we have to put our phones down, close our tablets, leave our virtual lives and step back into reality. The Internet is AMAZING for information, don't get me wrong, but we as humans desire interactions and even confrontations at times.

Think about it, if we can buy a car without Car Salesmen then can we Also buy a car without dealerships?  Of course we could and this is another reason car salesmen jobs are safe. Communities, banks, and people depend on these dealerships.

I think the new trend for Car Salesmen in the future will be to work more like CarMax Salesmen with hourly rates and no more commissions. One of the biggest complaints are Car Salesmen are ripoffs and lie and cheat. Let's look at this and really put yourself in this position for a moment.

Car Salesman works for a week or 10 days and it has been slow and they have not made a sale in this time period. Guess how much this Car Salesman made?  ZERO is what they made!  Would your attitude change if you worked 10 hour days for 2 weeks and made ZERO? Let me clarify this. The Salesman will get paid minimum wage draw and guess what that means?  When the next car is sold and you are actually going to have a check this week, the draw gets taken out of your sales so guess what you made again?  You guessed it, minimum wage.  Now, let me say, this salesmen would not be in the business long because their job would be threatened daily. You can see where the problem lies. So, would it not make more sense for dealers to pay honest wages to honest Car Sales Agents?
